Drug dealer jailed for five and a half years

A drug dealer has been jailed for five-and-a-half years after a parcel being delivered from abroad was checked and found to contain the controlled substance MCAT.

Dean Hemingray was arrested following the discovery of the drugs in the parcel, which was originally bound for an address in Chesterfield.

It had been stopped by border agency staff after an unknown substance was detected inside and was later found to be MCAT.

The 29-year-old, of Wood Lane, Shirebrook, was charged and pleaded guilty to a number of drugs-related offences.

He admitted two counts of supplying the class B controlled drug, and two counts of importing a prohibited item, namely the drugs.

Hemingray appeared at Derby Crown Court to be sentenced on October 11, and was jailed for a total of 66 months.
