Drink driver had split with girlfriend
A Mansfield man was over the legal alcohol limit and driving without insurance when he crashed his car into a lamp post on New Year’s Eve.
Alexandru Huma, 23 was found to have 57 mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath after the smash on St Peters Way.
Huma pleaded guilty top both offences at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Hide AdThe court was told that Huma, of Prospect Street, had split up with his girlfriend on the day of the incident and had got in the car to follow her and reconcile their relationship.
He was disqualified from driving for 15 months with a £300 fine, costs of £85 and £30 victim surcharge.
