The new chief executive of a dog-rescue centre in Blidworth, which is undergoing a huge refurbishment, says she has secured her “dream job”.

Jacqui Bell has joined the Jerry Green Dog Rescue charity as it nears the completion of a £1.75 million makeover that will fully modernise and expand the Warsop Lane complex.

She brings a wealth of experience in leadership from roles in many other organisations, and will front a 50-strong team of staff and volunteers based not only at Blidworth but also at four other centres in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.

“This is a really exciting time for the charity,” said Jacqui. “The new cantre in Blidworth will provide accommodation for 30 dogs, with a spacious training barn, office space and new reception area.

“I’ve always been passionate about animals, particularly dogs, and I have spent time volunteering as a dog-walker in the past.”
