Dream Disney trip for terminally-ill Mansfield boy

Supporters of Mansfield Town and Chesterfield donated over £1,070 which will help pay to take seven-year-old Kayleb Godfrey to Florida early next year.

The cash was raised at the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy match last Tuesday, and it means the family has now hit their £5,000 target, which is partly funded by the Make a Wish Foundation.

Kayleb, who is from Mansfield, was born with cerebral palsy, global developmental delay and chronic liver disease.

His family has been told recently that it is in Kayleb’s best interests for the youngster to avoid a liver transplant.

His family took the heartbreaking decision to remove Kayleb from the liver transplant list and he is now on an End of Life Plan.

Kayleb’s grandad, Nigel Millband said: “The generous support of fans makes it possible for the family to have memories that will never be forgotten.”

Kayleb’s mother, Aymie, said: “Kayleb will never go on holiday again, this will literally be the trip of a lifetime for him and us. It will be extra special.”

The money was presented by Stags players Jamie McGuire and Calvin Andrew, amongst others, who also presented Kayleb with a 
shirt signed by the first team squad.
