Documentary of everyday Bolsover life

A film created from edited home movie cine footage donated by Bolsover and Carr Vale residents is being premiered in March.

Past Lives Bolsover captures the area’s heritage through everyday recordings of everything from weddings, christenings and childhood to work.

The film, which features a live soundtrack composed and performed by students of Bolsover School and international musicians, will be shown at Bolsover Assembly Hall on 15th March at 7pm.

Earlier in the day from 1pm onwards there will be an exhibition of local heritage with the Reminiscence Vintage Cafe.

After the Bolsover film there will be a question and answer session about the film and the artistic process.

This will be an opportunity for people to talk about their memories of Bolsover and Carr Vale.

The evening will finish with a showing of Past Lives Midlands, based on footage from the Media Archive for Central England.
