Detectives appeal to public for help with South Normanton murder investigation

Detectives investigating the death of Daniel Baker in South Normanton have received new information as to where the murder weapon may be and are appealing to the public for help.

Officers recently received information that the knife Mr Baker was killed with was in a clearing within woodland off Lea Vale, South Normanton, just beyond a wooden bridge that crosses a brook.

Police have conducted thorough searches of the area but the knife has not been found. Officers are asking anyone who may have found the knife since Mr Baker’s murder on July 19 to come forward. Anyone who discovers a knife in this area should similarly contact police.

A map has been produced showing the area where police believe the knife to be, marked with an ‘x’.
