Officers have been talking to the public about how they can benefit from the scheme by keeping up-to-date with policing issues in their community.

The free messaging service uses email, text messages and voicemail recordings to alert people to any crimes, suspicious activity, events, public meetings and other issues relating to police.

It is designed so users who sign up to the system can choose what types of information they receive concerning local crime, crime prevention, community events and good news to the public.
