Hospital workers are reaching for the stars after being commended for their efforts in the run up to Christmas.

Beverley Pickering, who is the housekeeper on ward 31 at King’s Mill Hospital, and maintenance assistant Mel Morris were both named the NHS Trust’s ‘Star of the Month’ winners for December.

A trust spokesperson said: “Mel was nominated for his hard work and effort which has had a very positive effect throughout the department and hospital.

“Beverley was nominated for embracing new innovations and working extremely hard to ensure these are implemented.

“She takes pride in her work, aspires to improve and her commitment to the ward and team is admirable.”
