On 5th December, Mr Moore will address the full council for five minutes to argue the case for a full no-evictions policy to be introduced.

Councillors will then debate the topic and decide their course of action in response to the petition.

Mr Moore said: “It is shocking that in the world’s 7th richest country, the UK, even the idea of evicting families in hardship is considered an acceptable option at a time when the richest 1,000 individuals in society benefitted from a tax cut and added an extra £35 billion to their personal wealth. That is why we need the council to enshrine a no-evictions stance in formal policy.” The meeting will start at 7pm.
