Three intrepid cyclists have been part of a charity event to cycle '˜to the moon and back' and raise £4,800 for the Children's Charity.

Mel Atkins, Mike Evans and Kirstie Gee joined 15 other teams across the country at the event at Apollo Bingo in Mansfield, riding exercise bikes provided by PureGym.

The trio cycled 30 miles between them, raising £300 on the night.

Added to the £300 also raised by each other 15 clubs taking part, it made a total of £4,800 – the distance and back to the moon (477,800 miles) multiplied by 0.01p.
