Cyclists’ pedal power charity success

Three Mansfield men are celebrating more than £500 for charity after completing a gruelling cycle ride to Skegness.

Neil Atkin, Steve Clayton and Chris Curtis set off from Mansfield at 6.30am on Sunday, 11th May and arrived at the seaside resort’s iconic clock tower at around 1pm.

“There are plenty who have done this before us and there will be many after us,” Steve said.

“But it’s still hard work no matter how you look at it. We had a couple of stops along the way but we think we did alright for old men.”

The trio said they have already raised £500, which they plan to split between Diabetes UK and the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, but donations are still coming in. They are pictured shortly after arriving in Skegness at the weekend.
