Cyclist in hit and run in Kirkby-in-Ashfield

Notts Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was hit by a vehicle in Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

The force was called to Blidworth Road at about 9.30pm on Tuesday 14th April.

A man in his 40s had been cycling towards the A611 when an unknown vehicle, believed to be a car, hit him from behind and failed to stop.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries.

Sergeant Tony Rungay said: “The driver of the vehicle would have certainly been aware they had hit the victim yet they failed to stop and call an ambulance.”

“The victim remains in hospital recovering from his injuries which will certainly affect him for a long time to come. If anyone has any information please get in touch referencing incident 933 of 14th April.”
