Cyclist assaulted in South Normanton

Police are appealing for information after a man was allegedly assaulted while riding his bicycle in South Normanton.

The incident happened between 6pm and 6.30pm on Friday, June 20 on Market Place. An 18-year-old man was riding along the road when a small black car, possibly a Vauxhall Corsa, drove past with two men in the front and a woman in the back.

As the vehicle drove past the occupants are alleged to have shouted abuse at the victim, before stopping the car.

Two men have then got out of the vehicle, and one man has grabbed the victim, kicked him and thrown his bike into the road.

The victim suffered minor injuries and his bike was also damaged in the incident.
