An cyclist was taken to hospital after suffering back injuries in an accident at Hardwick Park.

The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance was called to the grounds of the stately home at 4.05 on Saturday, March 25.

A spokesman said: "We were called to the grounds of Hardwick Hall on Saturday afternoon and were on the scene at 4.05pm, just 15 mins after getting the call. A patient had come off a bike in the grounds and had suffered a back injury. Our crew treated the patient – a man in his 20s - at the scene and flew him to hospital."

An EMAS spokeswoman said: "We received a call at 3.11pm on Saturday to reports that someone had fallen off their push-bike. We sent a paramedic, a fast response vehicle a crewed ambulance and the patient was taken to hospital by air ambulance with what we believe were non-life threatening injuries."
