Young man with 'puncture wounds' in his chest after serious assault in Mansfield

Nottinghamshire Police were called to Recreation Street, Mansfield at around 8.45pm on Wednesday, July 15 after they received reports that a young man was was being treated by ambulance crews for wounds and lacerations to his head.
The 24-year-old man was taken to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre in an ambulance for treatment for his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening or altering.

Hide AdOfficers are now urging witnesses who saw the attack or anyone who has any information about the serious assault to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Mark Shaw said: "Our teams have been actively investigating this incident since the time it was first reported.
"Those enquiries remain at a very early stage and we are urging anyone with any information to come forward and speak to us about this incident.
"What happened to this young man is abhorrent and we want to send a clear message that we are treating this incident seriously, that we are working hard to track down those responsible, that the case will be investigated thoroughly and that such behaviour will not be tolerated in our county.”
