Worksop man jailed for stealing meat and coffee

A Worksop man was jailed for a total of 28 weeks after he stole mean and coffee in three separate incidents in the town.

Wayne Barker, 38, of Potter Street, Worksop, was given a suspended sentence by Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on May 19 for a total of six shop thefts.

But on May 30 he offended again – stealing meat from the Sainsbury, in Newcastle Avenue, court records show.

Then on June 7, he stole coffee from two stores in Kilton Hill – the Co-op and a One Stop store.

Barker admitted the three fresh offences when he again appeared before Nottingham Magistrates on June 8, along with six counts of committing further offences during the operational period of a suspended sentence order.

He was jailed for a total of 28 weeks, but will serve half of that time in the community.
