COURT: Court Case
COURT: Court Case

A woman held in custody under the mental health act was brought before magistrates after attacking a care worker.

Cherie Boulton (34) who is held at Annesley House Hospital, Annesley, admitted lashing out at the worker while they were on a mini-bus, kicking her in the leg and shouting an swearing at her. The victim needed time off work.

The court was told how Boulton, who is on heavy psychosis medication, had become angry when the carers refused to stop for her to buy cigarettes.

Admitting a charge of common assault, and flanked by a carer, she was given an 18-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 compensation to the victim.
