WATCH: Moment burglar behind £10k jewellery theft from Sutton store is stopped by police
A thief behind a £10,000 break-in at a Sutton shop asked – ‘what burglary?’ – when he was confronted by police.
Kieron Millin who stole around £10,000 worth of watches and jewellery was confronted within hours of helping himself to valuables from the jewellers.
The interaction with police was captured on their body-worn cameras, after other footage had led them to him.
Unfortunately for Millin, county priority tasking team officers recognised his face when they reviewed CCTV of the burglary.

The 45-year-old was filmed leaving a trail of carnage in his wake while breaking into a Sutton-in-Ashfield store at 2.45am on February 12.
Having smashed a window to gain entry, he shattered a glass cabinet too, before grabbing around £10,000 worth of watches and jewellery.
After ripping out the till as well, Millin made for the exit, climbed back out over the shards of broken glass and fled into the night.
His escape was ultimately unsuccessful though, with the priority tasking team stopping him, around 9.50am, as he cycled through Sutton-in-Ashfield.
Millin was wearing the same clothes as earlier that morning, while one of the stolen watches and several pieces of the jewellery were found on him too.
Having initially pretended not to know anything about the burglary, Millin quickly changed his tune after realising the weight of the evidence against him.
He pleaded guilty to burglary when he appeared before magistrates the following day (February 13).
Having been remanded into custody on that day, he next attended Nottingham Crown Court to be sentenced last Friday (March 6 ).
Millin, of no fixed address, was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison, while also receiving a fine for his actions.
Sergeant Jonny Groves, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our county priority tasking team really showcased their value at every stage of this investigation.
“Having initially attended the shop in question in the morning, the officers’ local knowledge quickly helped solve the case.
“That’s after they reviewed footage of the burglary and immediately recognised that Kieron Millin was the man responsible for the theft and resulting damage.
“Not content with that, the team went out looking for him in the community and – sure enough – quickly spotted him cycling past.
“Despite actually having some of the stolen property on him, Millin still pretended to not know what had happened – asking ‘what burglary?’ when questioned.
“He wasn’t able to maintain that story for much longer, however, due to the strength of the evidence against him.
“It’s pleasing to hear Millin has now received a custodial sentence for his actions that morning.”
