Two people found dead at a Mansfield caravan park identified

Two people who died following an incident in Forest Town, Mansfield, have been formally identified as 66-year-old Richard Thompson, of Old Mill Lane, Forest Town, and his niece, 48-year-old Lisa Butler, of Mansfield.

Both were treated for their injuries by paramedics who were called to the residential address in Old Mill Lane just after 10pm yesterday (Tuesday, August 28). They were both pronounced dead a short time later.

Officers were quickly on the scene and launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.

Detective Inspector Rich Monk, who is leading the investigation, said: " Post mortems are taking place this evening to establish the exact cause of death however following our initial investigations we now believe this is an isolated incident and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
