Two people arrested after Kirkby street fight

It was reported at around 7.30pm on Spruce Grove last night that a woman suffered a minor cut to the face and thigh during a fight on the street and had to be taken to hospital for treatment.

Detective Constable Olivia West is leading the investigation. She said: "Officers were quickly on the scene to disperse the crowd and make the arrests.

"The victim has now been discharged from hospital and it's believed her injuries aren't thought to be life altering.

"It was reported that the victim and offender are known to each other and there is no threat to the wider community.

“A 20-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

"A 18-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of public order offences.

"Both people remain in police custody."
