Two found not guilty in Nottinghamshire murder conspiracy as trial continues

Two of the eight defendants who were on trial in connection with a murder conspiracy in Nottinghamshire two years ago have been cleared due to insufficient evidence.

Nottinghamshire Police said eight people have been appearing at Nottingham Crown Court for various offences in connection with a plot involving two targeted shootings that occurred between October and November 2018.

The first shooting took place at family home in Upper Langwith, near Mansfield on October 2 and the second one outside Das Kino bar in Fletcher Gate, Nottingham city centre on November 3.

Nottingham Crown Court heard that a gunman went to a window and fired five shots at a family member as she sat on the sofa watching television during the first shooting. The woman escaped unhurt.

During the second shooting, a gunman, on a moped, pulled up outside Das Kino bar where the family business, Prosec Security, provided security.

Keiron Gordon, 31, of no fixed address, was charged with encouraging or assisting the commission of an offence in connection with the Upper Langwith incident.

Patryk Matoga, of Laurel Avenue, Shirebrook, 19, was charged with encouraging or assisting the commission of an offence in connection with the Fletcher Gate incident.

The judge today (January 22) directed the jury to find Gordon and Matoga not guilty after finding insufficient evidence.

The remaining defendants are Jordan Murray, 26, of Beckhampton Road, Bestwood Park, Nottingham; Tarquin James, 29, of Collin Green, Nottingham; Nathaniel Skerritt, 31, of Valley Road, Nottingham; Dianvelli Williams, 22, of Hamilton Terrace, Leeds; Gina Watson, 31, of Carlton; and Sapphina Anderson, 32, of Mapperley.
