Two Ashfield men set for crown court date after allegedly stealing £10,000 worth of parcels from delivery van in Kirkby

Two Ashfield men are among three people set to appear before Nottingham Crown Court charged with stealing £10,000 worth of parcels from a delivery van.

Liam Ian William Barnes and Ashley Thomas Hargreaves appeared before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Friday, September 25.

Barnes, 32, of Kingsley Street, Kirkby, but currently on remand at HMP Nottingham, is charged with taking a vehicle without its owner’s consent and theft, following the alleged incident.

Hargreaves, 24, also of Kingsley Street, Kirkby, and Beth Creswell, 25, of Northolme Avenue, Nottingham, are both charged with theft.

It is alleged that a DHL delivery van was taken from Church Street, in Kirkby, on April 16, which contained approximately £10,000 worth of parcels.

None of the three entered a plea and all opted for the case to be sent to the crown court.

They will next appear before a judge on October 23.

Barnes was remanded into custody until that date while Hargreaves and Creswell were released on unconditional bail.
