Two people have been arrested in connection with a series of handbag robberies targeting elderly women in Sutton.

A 33-year-old man and 29-year-old woman have been questioned in relation to the incidents in October. The man remains in police custody but the woman has been released under investigation as enquiries continue.

The incidents include:

A robbery where two women, aged 87 and 86, were pushed to the ground before one had her handbag taken in Woods Hill, Sutton, on 10 October.
