Trio charged with blackmail at Mansfield caravan company face crown court

Three men have been charged with blackmail after it is alleged they demanded money with menaces from a Mansfield caravan company, a court has heard.

Nigel Scott, aged 60, of Egerton Close, Mansfield; Saulius Sungaila, aged 39, of Jenford Street, Mansfield; and Robert Briggs, aged 71, of Strawberry Hall Lane, Newark, all entered no plea to charges of blackmail when they appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court.

According to court papers, it is alleged the trio "with a view to gain for yourself or another or with intent to cause loss to another, made an unwarranted demand of an unpaid cash debt with menaces.”

Their alleged victim was based at Mansfield Caravans Ltd, on Mansfield Road, Warsop, and the incident is said to have happened on October 24, last year.
