Nottinghamshire Police have arrested two men and a woman after they received reports of a street fight in Mansfield in the early hours of this morning (Thursday, July 16).

Officers were called to Welbeck Street at around 4.45am today following multiple reports that a group of people were fighting and using weapons.

Police recovered a machete and knife from the scene and arrested two men, aged 41 and 41, and a woman, aged 29, in connection with the fight.

The men and women were arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

The 41-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs.

Three people are reported to have minor injuries.

A scene remains in place on Welbeck Street as officers investigate the disturbance.

Police Sergeant Andrew Doran said: “Upon arrival at the scene, three people with minor injuries were located and arrested in connection with the reports.

“They will now being questioned to help us better understand what happened this morning.

“Violence has no place in our communities and Nottinghamshire Police is committed to ensuring that residents feel safe.

“I’d now appeal to anyone with any information or footage of the incident to get in touch with us as soon as possible so that we can get to the bottom of what happened.”
