Below are some of the more serious and dreadful cases to have recently passed through our courts where some of the victims have been left traumatised.
Offenders have been involved in dangerous driving during a high-speed police pursuit, attempting to engage in a sexual activity with a child, and one thug has been jailed after he stabbed another man.
Another sex offender breached an existing Sexual Harm Prevention Order by messaging a 15-year-old girl online and he was also charged with causing a child to watch an image of a sexual activity.
A drug dealer was also caught with cocaine and heroin at his former home.
And in another case a motoring offender caused an injury to a passenger in another car following a collision.
But judges have seen fit to punish these offenders appropriately with custodial sentences of varying lengths.
