Teenagers arrested on suspicion of Mansfield bike theft

Officers have arrested three teenagers on suspicion of theft after a boy’s bike was stolen in Mansfield earlier this week.

A group of young men allegedly approached the victim when he was pushing his bike along Chesterfield Road South shortly after 3pm on Tuesday, December 1 and shoved his body and face.

The offender is then claimed to have stolen his bike and rode away in the direction of Mansfield town centre.

A 19-year-old man and two 17-year-old boys were arrested suspicion of robbery shortly afterwards and the victim was not seriously hurt.

Detective Sergeant Mark Shaw said: “This was an upsetting incident for the victim and we are currently working to establish what happened.

"Robbery is an incredibly serious offence that we will always investigate thoroughly.

“To this end we would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened and would ask them to call us on 101 quoting incident 405 of December 1.”
