Teenage drink-driver rolls car after losing girlfriend on night out
A teenage drink-driver who rolled his car onto its side after losing control has been banned from the road for 20 months.
Mansfield Magistrates’ Court heard Ryan Moore, of Sylvan Avenue, Kirkby, crashed the Renault Clio on Kirkby Folly Road, while his girlfriend was a passenger in the car.
When an off-duty officer arrived, Moore, aged 19, tried to run and hide.
Moore admitted having 186 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood – the legal limit is 80mcg.
The court heard Moore had not intended to drive that night, but had lost his girlfriend during a night out in town and panicked.
He was made to pay £338 in fines and costs.
