Swanwick police operation leads to four arrests

FOUR people have been arrested in connection with two burglaries and a theft in Swanwick as part of a special police operation.

A 29-year-old man from Somercotes has been charged with two burglaries, one at a property on Woburn Close, Swanwick, on 7th November and another at a property on Charles Street, Leabrooks, on 16th November.

He has also been charged with theft of diesel from a building site in Leabrooks on 16th November. He has been remanded in custody and will appear in court at a date yet to be confirmed.

A 22-year-old woman from Somercotes was also charged with theft of diesel and has been remanded in custody.

A 40-year-old man from Langley Mill was arrested in connection with the burglary on Charles Street and was released on bail and a 36-year-old man from Langley Mill was also arrested in connection with the burglary and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

All the arrests were made as part of Operation Rocky, launched by Derbyshire Police last month to tackle people involved in serious theft offences including burglary and car crime.
