Sutton robber who threatened shop staff with knife due in court

A Sutton man has been charged in connection with knife-point robberies at a convenience store.

Thomas Weir, 33, of Brand Lane, will appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Saturday, November 17) charged with two counts of robbery and one count of possession of a bladed article in a public place.

The charges follow two incidents at Chopra News, High Street, Stanton Hill, which happened at around 4.40pm on Wednesday (November 14) and around 5.30pm on November 1.

Alcohol and a small amount of cash were taken in the November 14 incident. A shop worker was threatened with a knife but was not hurt.
