A Sutton pervert threatened to share a topless picture of a 14-year-old American girl he met online if she didn't send him more images, a court heard.

Endijs Jankevics' victim told him her age when they began communicating on Snapchat in July 2024, said Lottie Tyler, prosecuting.

The conversation "escalated" and Jankevics, now 23, called himself "daddy" and his victim "princess" before requesting a topless picture.

"He said to her if she didn't send him a picture, he would get them somehow," said Ms Tyler.

After the girl, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, sent him a picture Jankevics threatened to share it if she didn't send him more.

"I am begging you," she told him. "Please delete them. I'm scared. It's not funny anymore."

The conversation came to light after police discovered his email address was linked to a drop box where an indecent image of a child was uploaded in 2023.

Jankevics was arrested on August 15, 2024, and officers seized an iPhone containing three indecent photographs and one indecent video of children.

"The conduct was intended to maximise her distress," said Ms Tyler. "He tried to put a time frame on her sending the images. There was a disparity in age."

Ms Tyler said a "lengthy" impact statement showed his victim had been “significantly distressed”, and the offences have a starting point of 18 months in custody.

Ian Pridham, mitigating, said Jankevics is of previous good character and his victim lives in America.

The conversation took place over three or four hours and she was online with another male who advised her to block the defendant, he added.

Although the incident was never reported to the police, the FBI became involved, Mr Pridham said.

He said the defendant was 21 at the time and magistrates could take the view he was “young and immature.”

Jankevics, formerly of New Street, Huthwaite, and now of no fixed address, admitted making indecent images of children, engaging in sexual communication with a child, and threatening to share a photograph of a child in an intimate state, when he appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court, on May 12.

On Tuesday he was granted unconditional bail and the case was committed for sentence at Nottingham Crown Court on July 30.
