A Sutton pensioner who was caught with some of the most serious sexual images of children possible looks set to learn his fate next month.

Philip Leonard Poole, of Cuttings Avenue, Sutton, has admitted six counts of possessing child pornography.

The 72-year-old appeared at Nottingham Crown Court this week for a preliminary hearing.

He admitted three counts of possessing indecent images ranging from category C to the very worst, category A.

More than 38 images were classed as category A.

He also admitted another three charges of making indecent images.

He was given bail until 9th June when he will re-appear again before Judge Andrew Hamilton.

Before leaving the dock, Judge Hamilton hinted to the defendant the seriousness of his crimes by telling him: “Your bail is no indication to the likely sentence.”
