Sutton man attacked in his own home after burglars broke in with a brick

A man was attacked in his own home in Sutton after burglars broke in using a brick.

Nottinghamshire Police were called on Tuesday (March 3) at around 5.30pm following a report of burglary.

The incident happened at Bentinck Street in Sutton in Ashfield where two men have forced entry to a house using a brick.

The victim inside has been attacked and suffered a head injury and bruising to their eyes.

The man was treated at Queen's Medical Centre.

Witnesses have reported seeing a police forensics team at the scene, and Bentinck Street was taped off yesterday evening.

Detective Sergeant Jamie Moore is leading the investigation and said: "Officers are continuing the investigation into this offence.

"If anyone saw the incident or has any information please call 101 quoting incident number 652 of 3 March 2020."
