Three men, two aged 19 and the other aged 35, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of offences including dangerous driving, drink-driving, failing to stop, driving whilst disqualified, driving without a licence, possession of class A and class B drugs, theft and taking a vehicle without consent.

The suspected drugs were seized and the car was recovered.

All three suspects were interviewed and later released under investigation as enquiries continue.

Inspector Susan Wain, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was an appalling display of driving that could have resulted in serious injuries to other road users and the occupants of this vehicle.

“We will never tolerate this kind of behaviour and I would like to pay tribute to the skill and professionalism of the pursuing officers who bought this incident to a safe conclusion."
