A Mansfield Town football player has been banned from the road for 17 months after he was caught drink driving.

Reginald Thompson-Lambe, of Dunsil Road, Mansfield Woodhouse, appeared before magistrates today, Wednesday, October 21.

The 24-year-old midfielder had been stopped in a BMW on Woodhouse Road on October 4, and was found to be nearly twice the legal limit.

He blew a reading of 60mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

Thompson-Lambe was fined £450 and made to pay £255 in costs.

He signed for Mansfield Town last September after impressing in a short trial, and has so far made 30 appearances, scoring five goals.
