This week’s cases at Mansfield Magistates’ Court

Motoring

Richard John Savage (33) of Maltby Road, Mansfield, admitted driving a Vauxhall Astra while already disqualified, and was jailed for 12 weeks, suspended for a year. He also admitted riving without insurance, and failing to surrender to custody. He was banned from driving for a further 12 months and made to pay £85 costs and an £80 surcharge;

James Daniel Dawson (40) of Forest Road, Warsop, was found to have ridden a Honda motorcycle without insurance and was fined £600, made to pay £85 costs and a £60 surcharge and given eight penalty points. The case was proved in his absence;

Sean Darel Hudspeth (46) of Pratt Close, Mansfield, admitted driving a Ford Focus at 45mph in a 30mph zone and was fined £265, given four penalty points and made to pay £85 costs and a £20 surcharge;

Wayne Jones (43) of Norwood Gardens, Southwell, was found guilty of driving a Ford Transit van while not wearing a seatbelt and not having the correct licence. He was fined £200 and made to pay £85 costs and a £20 surcharge. The case was proved in his absence;

James Alexander Kerr (33) of Greenway, Forest Town, admitted running a red light in a Ford Transit van and was fined £140, made to pay £85 costs and a £20 surcharge, and given three penalty points;

Richard Craig Glover (35) of Forest Road, Clipstone, admitted running a red light in a BMW and was fined £30, made to pay £40 costs and a £20 surcharge, and given three penalty points;

Simon Robert Massey (46) of Badgers Croft, Bilsthorpe, admitted driving an Audi at 59mph in a 50mph zone and was fined £330, made to pay £85 costs and a £33 surcharge and given three penalty points;

Daniel Jankowski (22) of Vale Drive, Shirebrook, admitted three counts of driving a Renault at 53mph, 46mph and 36mph, in a 30mph zone. He was fined £135, made to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge, and given 11 penalty points in total.

Theft

Lee Good (28) of no fixed address, admitted stealing wine and a magazine worth £4.15 from Sainsbury’s in Mansfield, and was jailed for 28 days because he committed the crime on the day of his release from prison. He was also made to pay £180 criminal court charges and an £80 victim surcharge;

Bryn Alun Major (51) of Victoria Street, South Normanton, admitted stealing lingerie worth £96 from TK Maxx in Mansfield, and was given a community order, made to pay £85 costs and a £60 surcharge.

Drink-Driving

Roman Stanislaw Cichosz (43) of an unknown address, admitted having 138mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath while behind the wheel of a Skoda. The legal limit is 35mcgs. He also admitted stealing vodka worth £15 from Tesco in Mansfield, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance, and attempted theft of vodka. He was jailed for 16 weeks, made to pay £150 criminal court charge and an £80 victim surcharge. He was also banned from driving for five years;

Terri Margaret Boden (26) of Eakring Road, Bilsthorpe, admitted having 45mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath while behind the wheel of a Land Rover Freelander. The legal limit is 35mcgs. She was banned from driving a for a year, fined £65, made to pay £85 costs and a £20 surcharge;

Lukasz Bodziony (26) of Thoresby Street, Mansfield, having 81mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath while behind the wheel of a Peugeot. The legal limit is 35mcgs. He was banned from driving for 18 months, fined £225, and made to pay £85 costs and a £22 surcharge.

Drugs

Thomas William Barlow (22) of Willows Avenue, Alfreton, admitted possessing M-Cat in Sutton, and was given a six-month conditional discharge, made to pay £85 costs and a £15 surcharge.

Fraud

Trevor Ridge (56) of Sixth Avenue, Clipstone, admitted two counts of fraudulently claiming income support benefit after failing to declare income from an occupational pension. He was given a community order with a two-month curfew, and made to pay £145 in costs.

Violence

Jeffrey Robert Mayes (30) of Lime Street, Sutton, admitted two counts of assaulting two males and was given a community order with 120 hours community service, made to pay £50 compensation to the victim, £85 costs and a £60 surcharge.

Miscellaneous

Jason Alan Peters (39) of Heathcotes Place, Sutton, was found guilty after a trial of having a stanley knife blade in Asda car park at Sutton. He was given a six-month conditional discharge, made to pay £85 costs and a £15 surcharge.
