Members of one group confronted Kieran White at his Gedling home, on January 17, and he was subsequently arrested, said prosecutor Laura Pitman.

He began communicating with "Evie", on September 23, on the Chat Hour social media app, before moving on to Whats App.

"She repeated her age a number of times but that didn't stop the defendant," Ms Pitman said. "He invited her to view private pictures of his penis and said he was adjusting something between his legs.

"He asked to see "Evie" naked and told "her" what he would do to her sexually.”

White began communicating with "Ruby" in December 2018, asking “if she would like to give naughty chat a try" and saying "they should keep it quiet."

"He showed her naked pictures of him and asked her for the same," said Ms Pitman.

"He told her to put her hand between her legs and asked for her to send him a picture."

David Watts, mitigating, said White, who has no previous convictions, had been out of work for a number of years and "was not in the best emotional state following the death of his mother," at the time of the offences.

"There has been no offending since," Mr Watts added.

White, 35, of Westdale Lane East, pleaded guilty to two counts of attempting to cause a child to watch sexual activity and two counts of attempted sexual communication with a child, when he appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court, on October 16.

Judge Steven Coupland told him his offences demonstrated a sexual interest in underage girls.

"The talk from you was sexualised in nature and amounted to grooming," he said. "What you did went on for a significant period of time."

White was jailed for a total of eight months.

He was put on the Sex Offenders Register, and made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, for ten years, at Nottingham Crown Court, on Friday.
