Detectives investigating an alleged assault in a field off Main Street in Shirebrook are appealing to trace a dog walker who was in the area at the time.

It’s believed they may have entered the park shortly before the victim, a 49-year-old woman, at around 7.45pm on Thursday, July 1.

Officers have no reason to suspect they are involved, but they may be a valuable witness and could help with enquiries.

The police have released a CCTV image of this person in the hope it might jog someone’s memory and encourage them to come forward.
