Police want to speak to this man in connection with indecent exposure incident in Mansfield
Detectives have issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a sexual offence which took place in Mansfield.
Officers say a shocked dog walker contacted them after she spotted a man indecently exposing himself at the Oakham Nature Reserve off Hamilton Way in the town on February 27.
The woman – who was alone at the time – told police that the man began following her and, as he walked past, indecently exposed him before disappearing into bushes.
Police say the incident left the woman ‘alarmed and distressed’.
Now detectives investigating the indecent exposure have released the CCTV image and want anybody who may recognise the man to contact them immediately.
PC Stefan Gregory, who is leading the investigation, said: "CCTV enquiries have identified the man pictured to have been in the area at the time, so we are keen to speak to the man in connection with the incident.
"Nottinghamshire Police take offences of this nature seriously and an active investigation is under way.
"We would like to reassure the public that the neighbourhood policing team, together with our partners, are undertaking a number of measures in order to prevent further offending.
“We have already increased our visible presence in the area since the incident.
“We are appealing for anyone with information in relation to the offence to contact us.”
Anybody who recognises the man should contact police by calling the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 327 of 27 February 2021.
