CCTV images of a motorcyclist police want to speak to about a fatal crash near Rainworth have been released.

The pictures were taken at a filling station in the Rainworth area on 5th May, just minutes before the crash.

It is believed the motorcyclist was riding in convoy with 28-year-old Keron Daws on the A617 at around 11.30am that day, and was just ahead of Mr Daws when the crash took place.

Mr Daws, from Mansfield, was killed when his bike was in collision with a car close to the junction with the A614 at Lockwell Hill.

Det Sgt Ged Hazelwood said: “It is not just the police who need to know exactly how and why this crash occurred. Mr Daws’ family need closure too, and that can only be achieved by having the full facts available at an inquest.

“We believe this motorcyclist has essential information that can assist us and I would urge members of the public, and particularly other motorcyclists or those in the motorcycle trade, to study the design of the rider’s jacket and helmet.”

Anyone who recognises the motorcyclist should call 101, ext 800 2225.

Alternatively, they can call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
