Police seize machete and arrest man after Mansfield incident

Police recovered this machete and arrested a man after swiftly responding to a report of a disturbance in Ollerton yesterday (Wednesday 25 March 2020).

Officers were quickly on scene after being called to an address on Wellow Green at 2.50pm following a report that a man was outside a property armed with a machete.

The suspect left the address on a bicycle but after a description was given to officers they quickly located him.

He was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and criminal damage. He remains in custody.

Following the arrest officers found a machete which had been discarded in a bush.
