However, neither the man nor the woman move – resulting in the youngster crashing between them.

The father asks for an apology – but the man kicks the girl’s bike and walks off.

The girl can be heard crying in the background.

After the incident, her mum wrote on Facebook: “My daughter is traumatised.

“She is new to going on bike rides.”

The incident was reported to Nottinghamshire Police.

Detective Superintendent Kev Broadhead said: “We have reviewed the footage and do not believe this was a criminal offence.

“The couple involved also called us about the incident and we are satisfied that what took place was a misunderstanding between the two parties and they have both been updated as such.”

Det Supt Broadhead urged people to be ‘extra aware of our surroundings and considerate of others’ after the Government changed the lockdown rules.

He added: “More people are now walking, cycling and jogging along our pathways in line with the Government's new guidance, all going at different speeds and we've got to share our open spaces with social distancing in mind.”

The Blackwell Trail is part of a network of trails which run through Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
