Police recover 'large quantity' of Class A drugs and cash from car in Sutton

Armed response officers stopped a car on Mansfield Road shortly after 3.30am, as part of a routine patrol search, after spotting drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
Police searched the four men inside the car and officers found a ‘large quantity’ of what is thought to be crack cocaine inside.

Hide AdThe four men, aged 34, 30, 29 and 21 were arrested this morning (Monday, July 27) and remain in police custody.
Inspector and Ashfield District Commander Mark Dickson said: “Yet again officers on routine patrol have shown a commitment to keeping our community safe.
"Whilst most people are tucked up in their beds, our officers are out patrolling and being pro-active.
“Illegal drugs cause a great deal of harm to our communities and tackling drug related crime is one of our main policing objectives in the district.

Inspector David Mather from Nottinghamshire Police’s firearms unit said: “Our armed response vehicles regularly patrol all areas of the county to keep the public safe.
"This is a great display of how Nottinghamshire Police work collectively to tackle crime.”
