After gaining entry, officers discovered more than 200 mature cannabis plants inside.

Left undiscovered the plants would have had an estimated street value of more than £100,000, according to Nottinghamshire Police.

They have now been destroyed and an array of sophisticated growing equipment has also been put beyond use.

Nobody has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.

PC Liam Craggs, of the force, said: “This was a significant cannabis grow that is likely to be linked to organised criminality.

“It would have taken a great deal of time and money to set up and I am pleased that it has now been taken out of action.

“The large-scale production of illegal drugs has a significant negative impact on our communities that often brings with it violence and other related offending.

“We are determined to clamp down on the people responsible for this trade and on this occasion have a member of the public to thank for alerting us.

“If you see any suspicious activity then please report it to the police immediately.”
