Police find meat cleaver in car after Ashfield suspects arrested for dangerous driving

Officers in Ashfield discovered a meat cleaver inside a car, when two motorists were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after they failed to stop for police.

The weapon was found in the vehicle following a pursuit by police through Sutton and Kirkby on Tuesday, November 24.

After the car was brought to a safe stop, officers arrested the two suspects for failing to stop, dangerous driving, driving without insurance and using allegedly false number plates.

The drivers were also arrested for being in possession of a meat cleaver, which was found during a search by police after the chase.

In a tweet, the force said that enquiries into the incident were still ongoing.
