Police dog used to arrest man who fled after Sutton police chase

A police dog helped an officer arrest a man following a chase in Sutton last night.

Police Dog Wolf, of Nottinghamshire Police, was deployed by his handler at around 12.20am after a man fled from a parked vehicle following a brief police pursuit.

The car was pursued by police travelling at high speeds along Lowmoor Road, turned onto Cowpasture Lane and a man appeared to run away.

PD Wolf was deployed and gave chase to the man. PD Wolf intercepted him and the man was arrested on suspicion failing to stop, dangerous driving, driving while unfit through drink or drugs and driving while disqualified.

Ashfield Neighbourhood Inspector Mark Dickson, said: “This arrest is a brilliant example of how our handlers and police dogs work together to achieve results.

“The man was taken to hospital for treatment of a minor injury he sustained during the arrest.

“He will then be taken into custody for questioning.”
