Police crime report for incidents in the Mansfield area

BERRY HILL

Theft – A man and a woman were caught on CCTV when they stole a water cylinder, a bucket full of copper and scrap tools from a driveway on Valley View, in Mansfield, at 11.20am, on April 15.

FOREST TOWN WEST

Animals – A report was received on April 16 about a red Belingo Van on Braemar Road in Forest Town. The caller believed the man and woman inside were eyeing her address for a possible dog theft.

Burglary – A caravan on Southwell Road West was broken into but nothing was stolen.

Theft from motor vehicle – Radios and speedometers were stolen from two vehicles parked in front of a car showroom on Southwell Road West. The driver’s side windows were both damaged. This was reported on April 14.

Theft of motor vehicle – A Volvo XC90 was stolen from a lane on Southwell Road East, sometime between 9pm, April 17, and 8.30am the next day.

OAK TREE

Theft of motor vehicle – A Cherokee Jeep was stolen from Foston Close sometime in the last three weeks.

PORTLAND

Burglary – A shed was broken into on Mount View Close, Mansfield, between 3pm on April 16, and 11am the next day. Access was gained by removing the hasp and the lock. It is not known at this time if anything has been stolen.

PRIORY

Attempted theft – Offenders tried to make off with four mopeds on Vale Road, Mansfield Woodhouse, sometime between 9.30pm on April 17, and 11.35am on April 19. The offenders damaged three of the bikes and a wall but did not get away with any of the vehicles.

ROBIN HOOD

Burglary – A caravan was broken into on Oxclose Lane, Mansfield Woodhouse, at approximately 9.45pm on April 18. The door was found wide open and the window had been smashed. Nothing of value was taken.

SHERWOOD

Theft – A planter was stolen from the front of a house on Debdale Way, Mansfield Woodhouse. The theft happened overnight on April 9/10. A neighbour has since spotted a person coming onto the same drive to try and steal a hosepipe.

TOWN CENTRE

Theft – A black pouch style bag was stolen from Primark, at around 10.30 am, on April 15. The owner had placed the bag on a rail whilst trying on a new garment when a male approached, picked it up and walked out of the store with it.

Theft – An A471 phone in a Wizard of Oz case was stolen at around 1pm, on April 15, from the Market Place in Mansfield town centre. CCTV is currently being checked.

A bus pass was stolen from a bag whilst the owner was shopping on West Gate, between 11am and 12pm, on April 15. The victim noticed someone bumping into her and later realised the card was missing.

Two bags were stolen from outside the Midland Hotel on Station Road. The bags contained door keys, jackets and IPods. A CCTV trawl is being done of the area.

Theft from motor vehicle – A VW caddy van was broken into on Gilcroft Street sometime between 7pm, on April 14, and 7am the next day. The passenger side window was smashed and the locks on the door were damaged.
