Police arrest trio and recover weapon after disturbance in Mansfield street

Three suspects have been arrested after reports people were armed with weapons including a metal bar, in a Mansfield street.

Officers were called to Tideswell Court at 8.15am yesterday (Tuesday, July 14) following calls that people were armed with weapons in the area.

No one is reported to have suffered any injuries.

Two men, aged 27 and 35, were arrested nearby on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

A 19-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

Police recovered a steering wheel lock from the scene, which is suspected to have been used as a weapon.

Sergeant Simon Spooner, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of this incident and we are appealing for anyone with information about what happened or those responsible to please call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 114 of 14 July 2020, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
