Police appeal for witnesses to serious crash on A617 near Mansfield

Police are re-appealing for witnesses and information after a serious crash involving a car and a motorbike.

The collision happened shortly before 3pm on Sunday on the A617 Sherwood Road South between Sutton and Mansfield.

The motorcyclist - a 56-year-old man - was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre for treatment. His injuries are not currently believed to be life-threatening.

Roads were closed following the crash and re-opened at around 4pm yesterday.

A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and released on conditional bail.

Police Sergeant Mark Baker, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "We need anyone who witnessed this crash to get in touch with us as soon as possible.

“In particular we are keen to hear from any drivers with dash cam footage who may have captured the moments before or after the collision.
