Police are appealing for information following the theft of a tortoise in Shirebrook.

Members of Derbyshire Police’s Shirebrook safer neighbourhood team said the reptile was stolen from Church Drive.

Police said the theft took place on Tuesday, May 10, between 3.30pm and 5.30pm.

Appealing for witnesses via the force’s Facebook page – fb.com/ShirebrookSNT – a team spokesman said: “If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of the tortoise, then please contact us via 101 quoting Occurrence number 22*265931 or please message us on here.”
